I have had the pleasure of working with Jimbo twice now, once in the Chippewa Flowage up in northern Wisconsin in June 2008, and again along the Gulf Coast in January, 2009. Our first project was in northern Wisconsin in the Chippewa Flowage. This is a collection of lakes, rivers, and streams that are just beautiful. They also happen to be full of smallmouth bass, pike and muskies. So we took Jimbo and a couple Native Watercraft Ultimate kayaks on their first trip in pursuit of muskies. Along the way we caught quite a few smallmouth bass, pike and panfish. Jimbo caught his first muskie as well.

The second project started out in Mobile, Alabama, and worked across the upper Gulf Coast in to some very neat parts of the country. He's spent a lifetime in the bayous and marshes of the Gulf states from the Everglades all the way to Mexico and points south. In skiffs and kayaks, he's gathered an immense knowledge about the fish living under the water, as well as the birds and animals living on the water.

Finally, it always feels good to see your friends and your kids getting along. Here on the left my friend Jimbo and my three daughters have just completed a very hazardous turtle rescue in the middle of a quiet country road. I was also lucky enough to meet Jimbo's wife, Lyn, like Jimbo, is a great person. Fun to be around. If you ever get a chance to talk with Jimbo take it. Spend a few minutes talking and listening with him. He's a great guy.
