This is an Old Town Dirigo much like what Johnson Outdoors / Old Town Canoe & Kayak is donating to the DNR for Andy's use in promoting adaptive paddling. Don't know what color his will be. The Dirigo is a great kayak for people with disabilities to use because it has an extra long cockpit, which increases the ease of getting in and out of the boat. Kevin Carr from whom we are hoping to purchase the seat, pontoons and hand braces is also a big fan of this kayak and has outfitted numerous Dirigos with his custom-made adaptive paddling gear.

Andy is working on some programs that he wants to start at state parks throughout the state, that would make the boat and the gear available to other disabled paddlers so that they could experience paddling and hopefully become more active in the outdoors.
