early June 2008

Wendy Williamson, along with her husband Larry Mann, own the Hayward Flyfishing Company (HFFC), in Hayward, Wisconsin. HFFC is one of only a handful of flyfishing shops open year round here in Wisconsin. In addition to their shop, Wendy and Larry have a drift boat-based guiding service as well. Guiding "wannabe" muskie catchers keeps them on the water nearly every day during the summer, especially as word continues to spread about their ability with muskies. By the way, it's all oars and arms at Hayward Flyfishing. No motors, other than last night's dessert, are used. We here at Quietwater like that. After all, the next best thing to a good paddle is a good pair of oars! Wendy, seen below, is getting the boat ready for me. Our camera guy, Damon, is in the front seat ready to go. I spent the day rowing her boat while she spent the day in one of our kayaks.
