You should buy paddles along with your canoe. Most people neglect this part, but the paddle is what you are touching and lifting thousands of times a day when you are out on the water. It is worth considering this piece of equipment as much as the canoe itself. Happily, test driving the paddles is every bit as pleasant as testing the boats. Be sure and think about shaft length, paddle weight, flex, blade surface area and whether or not you like a fast cadence or a slower cadence.
