We stopped by the beach on the south side of Grand Isle, on the way to our morning fishing grounds. Something was happening out in the Gulf and sending these waves into shore. Big and windy. The oil rigs in the background made for an odd juxtaposition of commerce and outdoor recreation. In this neck of the woods though, the oil rigs are everywhere. Thankfully, on this particular day the waves and wind were just on the beach, the protected water we paddled and fished in the marsh bayous was smooth and still. <next  gallery page  last> looking south from the Grand Isle, LA. beach
