For five days in January we went fishing. The redfish were running, the
speckled trout were too. Jimbo Meador led the way along the upper Gulf Coast starting near Slidell, Louisiana
with Gary Taylor, the owner of Go For It Charters and one of the first kayak fishermen to ever cast a line.
We spent a big day fishing with him in the Louisiana marsh on the Gulf side of Lake Borgne, south of Slidell.
Our next stop was on the southwest side of New Orleans out towards the end of the earth in Grand Isle, LA.
with Danny and Kristen Wray, owners of Calmwater Charters. Two more wonderful days slid by fishing, paddling,
pedaling, and poling with them in the flats and canals near Grand Isle. Port Mansfield, Texas near Brownsville,
was our third stop. We met up with Ruben Garza and two of his fellow guides for a day in the lower
Laguna Madre, searching out speckled trout. Like all good things, this trip came to an end and we returned
to the land of the frozen chosen, content in hand. It is all together now and available for your viewing pleasure.
