All nine days of our summer 2008 vacation in Florida ended up being just fine.
We spent
the first four days at Disney and the last five days at Cocoa Beach
in an ocean-side condo.
Disney was like everyone says it is - characters and rides and crowds.
I did not like the run run hurry hurry aspect of doing Disney. Running through the rides at Disney is not a relaxing
vacation, but it was paradise for our kids, who loved it.
Cocoa Beach, on first glance, fit all
the neon glitzy stereotypes that describe Florida. However, once we got into our condo and behind it
onto the GORGEOUS beach, it was just fine. A place that I would come back to, even though I have
avoided Florida for my entire adult life.....
